“HOO” WE ARE

Before calling “Hoo” Haven, please refer to the table to the bottom of this page first. Select the type of animal you have and follow these steps. If your animal is in need of help, please call “Hoo” Haven as soon as possible. Please be aware that we may not be able to answer or get back to you right away as we are 100% volunteer-run. If you have an injured animal, keep it warm (not hot as to burn the animal), especially babies.

Once you get a call back from our director, Karen, and have spoken to her, follow her guidance. Please remember that animals must be brought to us, we can not pick up every animal.

If you do rescue an animal and have kids, as tempting as it is, leave the animal in peace in a quiet room. Don’t allow kids to pick it up or stare at it, even if you think the animal can’t see them. Many animals can sense a human’s presence and children and pets can still scare animals.
